Primitive Technology: Stone Yam planters

These videos are amazing. They make me realize why/that my life feels so empty, sitting here in my dark room, on my one day off from work, lazing and wasting away, my health, my time. Life has become too complicated for me. No matter what I do, I always end my day, so empty. Damn advanced technology!

I wonder if you have tried to calculate calories/hours spent versus calories of food acquired. Making the planters seems labor intensive for getting just a meal or two yield. Maybe I misunderstood the yield for each assembled planter.

How many yams can each one of these planters yield? They're probably incredible effective at keeping foraging animals away from his growing plants, but they look enormously labor intensive to build. The majority of the work is probably transporting the stones to the grow-site, so I imagine it pays off over multiple years/harvests. Just wondering what the economy of this actually is.
