Logitech G: Innovation

they make a good point there's some major challenges when it comes to wireless performance and the skeptics bring up a lot of legitimate engineering problems so latency connectivity power weight of all the challenges wireless hardware has to overcome it's reasonable to ask why bother to me it's simple unrestricted motion the water is rubbing the surface so this creates a tension even a small force when you are asking for pixel precision it's not negligible a lot of pros already understand this that's why they use this thing called a mouse bungee it moves the cord out of the way so it feels like a wireless mouse if you could remove the technical barriers Wireless is superior to Wired and frankly we just felt that was a goal worth pursuing when we first envisioned a wireless future our team took a firm stance that we just had to erase the technical limitations before wireless could truly be worthy of gamers undivided attention our first breakthrough was an architecture we called Lightspeed it was designed to address two of the biggest issues with wireless connectivity and lanes at each step for each component we improved it until we were perfect we can emulate noise in our labs and put it at the maximum even higher than the real world to make sure that we are still at one millisecond in this spatial environment at the same time we start exploiting the issue of power consumption kicking off what might have been our most ambitious project today and that was the invention of power play a wireless charging system it delivers an infinite power through the mousepad itself our goal was to provide power to the mouse all the time without any interruption when the mouse is moving which is quite difficult to realize I think today we've reached a turning point if you look at wireless hardware it can match or even outperform its wired competition so now the next step in our journey takes us to the heart of the mouse pmw 3366 was a significant milestone we still wanted to rise the bar even higher we made the step back saying okay let's be unconstrained let's design something perfect we built hero from the ground up to challenge the relationship between power consumption and performance your input signal has to be the best possible quality because everything you will relies on this front end signal first you have to look at the single pixel and then once you have a perfect single pixel architecture then you multiply it you new video matrix and this becomes your front end the way you will know the frame rate is pretty different from usual called less capable and so on we have the fastest frame rates and so on it slips in between frames most of the time we are sleeping the goal was to make top performance and push battery life when yo is operating we are using ten times less power with 3366 it's crazy for an engineering I cannot imagine you do this very often in your life since the very beginning our goal was to unlock the potential of Wireless put it in the hands and gamers at all levels the hero were elevating performance not just beyond the limitations of wired mice but beyond the current capabilities of all gaming months Wireless future gaming it's here now

Come to think of it… While I am actually better and faster at aiming, my G305 mouse is really the proof that I suck at CS:Go and I can't blame it on the mouse. 😁

One year later and I am really impressed with what you have done with G PRO and mainly G305 that I personally own. So much performance out that 1 battery for FPS.
I also have G602 which I used for gaming an now I use it at work and I actually prefer it over MX Master.

sold two of these, since the material from which are made are second hand and have heavy tear, the sensor lags occasionally and for the price i can get 2x better price and longer lasting

I love you guys' mice, specifically the G4/6/703's, however I wish that you had different size variants. They're just too big for my hands and I'm surely not the only one with this issue.

i just wish logitech created something in between the G900 and G403.. G403's grip is ideal for my hands (where as the g900 causes the joints in my index finger to hurt after a while) but the G900 has a better scroll wheel :c otherwise they're perfect. what would really be amazing is if they released a mouse with the Logitech G9/x's shell with the internals of the G403/603/900/903… i can dream right? XD (tbh, im actually thinking of buying a 603 and trying to take its internals and squish them into my old G9.)

"The wireless future of gaming? It's here now."

    NOT TRUE!

First, dealing with the subject of the video itself, wireless mice. You said you had four problems to solve: Connectivity, Latency, Power, and Weight. You solved Latency and Connectivity with LightSpeed and Power with PowerPlay. Your HERO sensor may further improve upon performance, speed, accuracy and power efficiency but you know what it doesn't improve upon?

    WEIGHT

None of the tech you describe makes your mice lighter now, does it?

Secondly, Keyboards. Now, I know you just recently made a wireless mechanical keyboard so you have some great progress there BUT there are some flaws. For starters, it doesn't have your PowerPlay technology to prevent it from dying in critical moments. So, in terms of gaming potential, it falls short, even with such a long battery life. Next, the keyboard lacks an RGB backlight. Yes, such a thing will kill the battery faster but it's both 2017 and a gaming peripheral. It MUST have RGB, MUST! Finally, it's a full-sized keyboard. Now, to be fair, I don't actually have a problem with full sized keyboards but when it comes to gaming, you can't go wrong with a TKL.

    Now, my suggestions?

Firstly, since you've already developed all the relevant technology for wireless mice, all you need to do is make a mouse with LightSpeed, PowerPlay, and the HERO sensor that is both lightweight and weight adjustable for those that prefer heavier mice. Not too difficult I imagine.

Next, when it comes to wireless keyboards, you (obviously) need to implement your PowerPlay technology. You can even take advantage of the whole mousepad charger thing of the mouse and make one of those giant extended mouse pads that some of your competitors (Corsair, HyperX, etc.) make. Also, when it comes to making the keyboard shorter, don't go straight for a TKL. What do I mean by that? One of your competitors, Cooler Master, has made pretty good improvement on short-form keyboard layouts. Namely, their MasterKeys Pro M keyboard. It reconfigures the number pad secondary function layout and makes it more like the standard navigation cluster + arrow keys on a keyboard. In essence, it gives us both the number pad and the arrow key function. It also means that gamers will have to get used to using the num lock key to switch between num pad and nav cluster, but I imagine gamers will get used to it. Finally, toss some RGB on that….. because…. it's 2017….. and every gaming peripheral has RGB….. yo.

(Also, fix your keycaps. Give us some quality PBT Double-Shot Keycaps. I AM WILLING TO PAY FOR IT)

THEN, after all of that, the wireless future of gaming will be here now 😛
