Why is Technology Used?
Technology is replacing jobs. Are you ready?

The xavier itself weighs aroudn 600grams, the racing drones barely hit 500grams, how are you going to use xavier on this platforms?
I registered for this and so did some others but it looks like none of us will be submitting entries. The problem is that there are NO TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS. They don't even specify what the inputs to the AI Autopilot will be. There is nothing at all to go on and they want an entry to be done by March 2019. The video is 100% marketing fluff with zero technical content. If you click the links for "more info" all you find is administrative boilerplate text
We have people with decades of development experience wanting to start work but zero information from LM or DRL.
BTW we could use a competitive pilot on the team. But it's pointless if they don't say exactly what needs to be done. (We wonder if this is a setup for an insider who has already been working on this for years to win the prize money)
feels like yesterday i built a wooden kk2 tricopter… multirotors have grown up so quickly …
You guys need a new audio mixing engineer. jeez.
I wanna live in the world where kids don’t aspire to be athletes or you tubers they aspire to be SKUNKS and PHANTOMS.
I'm just waiting for someone to make a witty commend that involves Ender's Game on this video…
(Beyond that: cool idea & challenge guys @ LM! Please do call the spin-off Cyberdyne Systems that develops those AI drone pilots. 😇)
This is interesting because it is pitting AI against human motor skills. Human motor skills have been finely tuned over many thousands if not millions of years of evolution. AI has been pitted against human deep thinking like Chess and Go and has been asked to navigate complex courses against other AI as in Autonomous Vehicles, but this time it is being asked to race against human competitors. I think they will do well since they just have to learn fly around a course without getting into trouble but the challenge will be to stay out of trouble in a racing situation. Racing is not your normal just flying around situation.
college students invasion
go recruit some russian hackers!
talk is cheap
We had a happy little hobby here, now about to be weaponized by Lockheed Martin.
Is there an anti drone challenge I can enter?
More and more human skills are developing. The fourth technology revolution is now in sight. We expect to be connected to people's real life,. The combination of real-world enhancement technology will bring a bigger world to life.
This is cool as hell.
Can't wait to watch tonight.
I think Lockheed Martin is generally severly overlooked, mostly by Boeing and SpaceX when it comes to these public view and civilian sector areas. Maybe uploading on a more regular schedule, just little tidbits about each project, or infomercials about all their products, would help them gain popularity. I would certainly like to hear more, but there just isn't all that much unfortunately. At least they're not Raytheon.
Can't wait for autonomous F-22's
Seems to be quite a meek purse for the winners consideringLike "EVERYTHING IMPLIED"!
I really, really would like to take the challenge because I got a racing drone and am very interested in AI… unfortunately I just have very little programming experience.
