Larry Ellison – What The Hell Is Cloud Computing?

sure well thank you very much for that question because cloud computing the interesting thing about cloud computing it is either going to be or already is the most important computing architecture in the world because we've redefined cloud computing to include everything that we currently do so it has already achieved dominance in the industry I mean I can't think of anything that isn't cloud computing with all of these announcements I have to say that the only way I can understand the computer industry the computer industry is the only industry that's more fashioned driven than women's fashion uh the you know I mean cloud computing I remember reading W and I found a read that orange is the new pink and cloud is the new SAS or you know in virtual cloud is a new virtualization it is the most nonsensical I mean I read these articles I have no idea what people don't know maybe I'm an idiot I have no idea what anyone's talking about I mean it's really just complete gibberish cloud computing is Google Mail is cloud computing okay then uh and then Marc Benioff says SAS is cloud computing I mean what is it what is it is it oh I'm going to access data Unser a server on the Internet that's cloud computing well then there's a definition what's cloud computing it's using a computer that's out there was one of the definition computers out there these people who are writing this crap are out there they're insane I mean and the fact that I mean you read it's the stupidest well because I've been through this I mean open source open source is going to destroy our business you owe me nothing but open source and we're out of business but it was pcs when it destroys Drive main for many computers gonna destroy mainframes PCs were going to destroy mini computers open source was gonna blow his Stannis instead if everything was going to be delivered also offers and be delivered as a service when is this idiocy going to stop I'm in at this a very long time there's still mainframes that was the first in industry there's going to be destroyed and watching mainframes being destroyed is like watching a glacier melt I mean even with global warming it's taking a hell of a long time I mean what the hell is cloud computing so you know I don't you know whatever will make our but we'll make cloud computing announcements because you know if orange is the new pink we'll make orange blouses I mean I'm not going to fight this thing but you know well yeah yeah okay fine we'll do some time when we will do an ad I don't understand what we would do differently in the light of cloud computing other than Mark you know then change the wording on some of our ads oh it's it's crazy so I don't know that's what that's my view

this video and Oracle CEO interpretation of "Cloud computing" indicates now in 2018…. that it's a double agenda to paint clouds as something good and progressive. This whole time it's ONLY been about getting the masses to associate "cloud" and clouds (Demonic entities;Nephilim;the Watchers) and to label all of that as "good" and productive and supportive to society and it's growth… NO. This video opened my eyes because of what was said at the very end… it's true… nothing has changed apart from just basic computing being progressed… there is NO revolutionary difference… it's feeding the propaganda machine this slogan.

I love this video and Larry's statement – "The computer industry is the only industry which is more fashion-driven than women's fashion".

That's why I call myself "IT.Scheiss" because the IT industry (especially the the marketing, lifestyle and sociological side, as well as the IT media side) is mostly full of scheiss.

I also created my blog IT.Scheiss to debunk the scheiss of the computing industry.

what a douche Ellison is. Now eating his own words with his new "Oracle Cloud" strategy at Openworld 2015. A little late to the party, look who is irrelevant now and playing catchup. all he can do is throw cheap shots with little substance. maybe Ellison is the new Putin!

Oracle knows only one language – money. And now they are trying to kill java platform and java based open source. For me it's really simple to use and work on it.  I'm not interested in commonly available hosting service because of copyright and content protection. I'd rather stick to the material well-protected disk space. Of course price is important as well. I’m currently doing some research outside my home, so I use my laptop a lot and I have a problem with data storage. I’ve got a second laptop at home, but it’s too big and heavy to carry it everyday, so I have to work on two computers and managing and combining files after visiting a library is making me crazy! I want to store my files and data in a cloud, but I need a big and chip one (LOL), because my projects are quite big. I used dropbox but I had some problems with accessing bigger files. Recently my friend googled Comzetta, but the page say something about a “virtual computer” and I don’t know what does it even mean and is it really so useful?

Please, Larry Ellison and Oracle have been offering Software As a Service, means, "cloud computing" for today marketing strategy. So it is nothing new at all. I remember working in a company in late 90s and we used Oracle software and that software were in the Oracle data center.

The industry just change the term and they are selling like if they have invented technology.
This is another proof that USA is not innovating anymore.

    Simple like that.

When he says about "Sand Hill Road", is because it is where there are a lot of "Venture Capital Firms" and they came out with the marketing term "CLOUD COMPUTING".

    Simple like that.

Wikipedia defines Cloud Computing as "the on-demand provision of computational resources (data, software) via a computer network, rather than from a local computer".

    Seems pretty simple to me.

Long live Larry Ellison's Corporate Rule over the US Government's DOD.
We applaud Larry for his continued efforts to thwart bad, anti-corporate Government legislation and peruse profit through innovation and effective use of pro-corporate lobbyists in swaying Governments to side with enterprise.
We appreciate Larry Ellison for focusing on the free flow of profiteering through reduced IRS taxation for dominating global software companies.
Truly, there's no stopping Oracle now.

As much as I don't like Larry, he's right on this one. However, CC's overal objective is to promote lower TCO. However, their comes a cost of security and control of your own data. Most banks will not allow this for Level 2-4 data. You can deploy a private cloud model but that defeats all the advantages of CC, because you now control and own the servers, thus increasing your TCO…

Personally, I think its all hype, like OO an OO database, etc….
