It's not that conservatives are against cleaner power sources….they are against socialism communism and being forced to pay for people able to work but unwilling to.

Yes let's cure wealth inequality. Let's educate the poor and encourage the young to work hard and innovate so that they will not be so poor! Also let's get money out of politics!

People Democrats are worse then Republicans. Never trust them again. They are just as bought out as Republicans.

Vote Green or Libertarian or start a new party with good ideas and honest people.

Democrats bombed a whole lot of countries to steal their resources. The difference is in your head, there is none in reality.

At the base of both major parties are some good principles and good people, but at the top there is only sell outs. Even Bernie has sold out.

Just take a look at the other democracies of the world. There is never 2 parties. Always more. You are being controlled

So this is interesting. I am a millennial political conservative, however in terms of environmental policy I strongly support the phasing out of fossil fuel powered engines, I also fully believe we are trashing the planet and that the planet must be saved and businesses should manufacture responsibly. I resent that Bill Nye thinks the conservative and liberal movements are black and white because that's just not the case. Liberal economic policy for example is very destructive, tax hikes don't increase revenue, and taxing specific industries doesn't discourage use of that industry (for example gasoline tax), it only forces people to pay more to do the same thing they have been doing. Lower taxes allow for a better economy which in turn leads to more federal revenue generated. Also, the liberal approach to foreign policy is basically that everyone should just get along and if we lower our sword the other side will as well- this is foolish. I have many reasons for being a conservative and yet I fully understand that some things the left wants are good. Bill Nye you just perpetuate a divide, conservatism has its benefits for society in the 21st century, its not just an ineffectual remnant of an old world order….smh

I think the majority of electrical power will come from thorium molten salt nuclear reactors. For a few reasons:
    1. it will produce a more reliable source of electrical energy.
    2. Thorium molten salt nuclear reactors are at least hundred percent safer than the current nuclear reactors.
    3. Thorium molten salt nuclear reactors can be used to effectively eliminate our nuclear waste problem by using that nuclear waste as partial fuel for the molten salt nuclear reactors.
    4. There are still a lot of problems regarding the long-term storage of electrical energy in batteries at a reasonable cost per battery. Which makes both of the so-called renewable energy sources of solar and wind very unlikely.
    5. The environmental impact created by the manufacturing of both solar cells and when turbine power is higher than the environmental impact of thorium molten salt nuclear reactors.
    6. Though to be honest I expect the United States to degenerate into a Third World country because of its anti-science, anti-education, and its repressive religious traditions that will not allow the United States to maintain its scientific lead on the rest of the world. America will be left behind.

People did vote, Hillary won the popular vote by 3M+ votes. But the electoral college has decided otherwise… Not a great incentive to go out voting again.
For those saying that you didn't vote for Hillary because she's a criminal… What exactly was the crime?

I'm just trying to imagine what entertainment will be like in the future. We've evolved all the way from theater plays to high powered cell phone and computer technologies. It only makes me wonder how people will continue to innovate that field. One prediction: A much wider and more accessible way to the internet will be created, and wifi will soon be viewed as we currently view dial up internet in the 90's. Slow, unreliable, and not nearly as accessible or cheap.

Autonomous automobiles are going to face implementary issues because people don't like to have their joys revoked. You can't just relegate drivers to the recreational race tracks. There's going to be a lot of backlash to autonomous automobiles.

Yeah, cuz millennials are so wise and older people are so dumb and ignorant. We should really listen to them and let them tell us what we should do. It's not like young people are easier for fraudsters to mislead and manipulate.

In other words, vote Democrat. It's important to vote for people who contribute to the destruction of the middle class just as much as their opposition does, and who say they believe in man-made climate change yet still do nothing meaningful about it.

Bill, you have to understand there is a level of wealth inequality that is just bound to happen in a free society with respect tothe 80-20 rule mentioned in the pareto principle. Now right now in many places including the US it is true that the ratio has gone higher but that is not because of conservative economic policies that support free market capitalism. It is because of both Democrat and Republican politicians renting out there power to big companies who use their legislative power to put in bottle neck rules and regulations that prevents new comers and shuts down smaller competitors that allows them to have a larger share of the market to themselves. This kind of corporatist/cronyist model is what's wrong. The solution is to take away such crony regulations and that's what the conservatives want. In short take away the means to attain power so that no matter how much money the rich have they wont have any influence because the power to do so no longer exists.
