Fred Konzelmann, TCC Mechatronics Graduate

FRED KONZELMANN: SOMETHING
ABOUT SEEING IT ON THE CAD STATION AND THEN ALSO
SOMETHING ABOUT INSTALLING IT AND WORKING ON IT YOURSELF. ADVANCED MANUFACTURING OFFERS
A LOT OF OPPORTUNITIES FOR PEOPLE TO MOVE UP
THROUGHOUT A COMPANY. TOM STOUT: THE OUTPUT
FOR THIS IS X… FRED KONZELMANN: TCC HELPED
ME GET TO WHERE I AM TODAY BY PROVIDING
EDUCATIONAL PLATFORMS TO FURTHER ADVANCE MY CAREER. I STARTED ON THE ASSEMBLY
AREA AND I WORKED MY WAY UP TO MANUFACTURING ENGINEERING. MY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES ARE
DESIGNING AUTOMATION EQUIPMENT, PROGRAMMING ROBOTICS AT
PRESENT HERE AT STIHL, INC., ERGONOMICS AND
SAFETY ARE A KEY FACTOR, A LOT OF LABOR
INTENSIVE TASKS ARE DONE BY MACHINERY
AND AUTOMATIONS. WE JUST DEPLOYED
TWO NEW ROBOTS, THEY ARE SPIDER ORIENTATION. THESE ROBOTS ARE FOUND IN
THE PACKING INDUSTRY FOR HIGH SPEED APPLICATION
IN PACKAGING PRODUCTS. THIS ONE IN PARTICULAR
IS THE FIRST OF THE KIND HERE AT STIHL, THE CYCLE TIME
IS ROUGHLY AROUND 2 SECONDS. THE FASTER WE CAN
PACK THE PARTS, THE MORE PRODUCT THAT WE CAN
MAKE AND SEND DOWN THE BELT. MY CHOICE IN THE MANUFACTURING
INDUSTRY IS VERY POSITIVE.
